The BroadBand Access Story
Incorporated in 2000, Ralph Paolo and Jim Lyons co-founded the company currently headquartered in New Hampshire with a regional divisional office in Rhode Island. With over 50 years combined experience in the cable industry, both partners realized a need for reliable cable development. Bringing different skills to the platform, operations and technical expertise, respectively – the company was born with a head count of two employees and two service trucks.
Due to an excellent record of customer service, development and support, BroadBand Access has grown significantly in size while maintaining the same dedication to quality and is continually seeking additional qualified personnel. Find out more about ongoing job opportunities at our career page.
Broadband Access Service operations are now conducted throughout New England – including Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and New York. In addition to our corporate headquarters and our regional office in Rhode Island, we’ve expanded our operations to have 2 additional offices: one in South Windsor CT and our most recent office in Springfield MA.
Jim Lyons retired in 2019 and turned the entire operation of the company over to Ralph Paolo. In July 2023, MasTec Communications Group acquired Broadband Access Services to further support the New England region of its national footprint. After 50+ years in the industry, Ralph Paolo stepped back in 2025 to enjoy a life of retirement. Although his presence is missed, Broadband Access Services will continue to thrive as a part of the MasTec Communications Group team.
